How an Academic Consultation Works
By closely collaborating with students, their families, school staff, and other professionals if necessary, e3 Consulting creates a holistic enrichment plan that prioritizes student health and success. It starts with a proficiency assessment.
Proficiency Assessment
As part of the academic consultation process, our academic specialists meet with students one-on-one to go over their goals and concerns, in addition to a series of academic assessments. Then, they’ll identify your child’s strengths and areas of improvement with a proficiency assessment.
This low-stress exam evaluates reading, writing, and math to see if a child is learning at their grade level. We also use games and one-on-one conversations to assess social and emotional wellness. After three or four sessions, e3 Consulting’s academic specialists regroup with parents to craft a plan based on their findings. No child learns and develops exactly the same, hence our individualized approach.
Professional Referrals
Academic struggles often stem from issues outside of class, and sometimes, those issues call for professional support. While our Academic Specialists are experts in individualized education and social-emotional development, some situations are out of our reach.
For this reason, e3 Consulting maintains a quality network of outside professionals in San Diego. If a psychologist, psychiatrist, speech therapist, or college counselor is necessary, we have a roster of referrals that can serve your needs.
