Learning styles are complex, specific, and as unique as your child’s distinct personality – so why do we expect all children to learn the same way? Academic support at e3 Consulting moves past the antiquated “one size fits all” approach to learning and offers a customized learning program designed to meet your child’s specific needs.
Every student has a learning style, be it an auditory, visual, or kinesthetic one. Some children may also harbor a learning or developmental disability, such as dyslexia or ADHD, which can impact their pace in the classroom. In these cases, a customized approach is necessary to strengthen your child’s specific areas of improvement, be it study habits, self-confidence, or self-advocacy.
For nearly two decades, enrichment students from over 1,500 San Diegan families have benefitted from e3 Consulting’s tailored approach to academic support. Through passionate service and strong relationships with students, their families, and school systems, we provide students with “a level of confidence they’ve never had before,” according to a recent parent and happy client.

Learning Styles Guide Academic Support
Is your child a visual learner, or more auditory? Is it poor studying habits that are affecting their grades, or a lack of socialization and self-confidence that’s demotivating them? Or, is their ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning disability putting them behind in class?
These are the questions that e3’s Academic Specialists ask before forming a detailed enrichment plan for your child. Rather than a blanket approach, we believe that every student is distinct, with unique needs that call for personalization.
Here are a few ways our Academic Specialists can tailor your child’s academic support according to their learning style:
Academic Consultation
Aligning your child’s enrichment program with their learning style starts with an initial academic consultation. During this session, we’ll identify your child’s needs, goals, and any school items parents may be struggling with.
By working with students, their families, and school staff, e3 Academic Specialists are able to craft a holistic approach that spans both in and out of the classroom. The educational system can be confusing, especially when unique learning styles come into play. If accommodations such as IEPs, 504s, and others apply to your child, don’t fret. Our initial consultation will uncover these needs and plan for them accordingly, giving your child a clear path to overall enrichment and success in the classroom.
Proficiency Assessment
In order to boost your child’s school performance, self-advocacy, and social development, it’s important to identify those areas of improvement.
Are they putting off their readings, struggling with math, or loathing writing assignments? With a quick assessment, we’ll highlight your child’s strengths and identify where they can improve, while gauging whether they’re learning at grade level.
Engaging games and discussions are also sprinkled throughout the assessment to explore your child’s social and emotional wellness. Performance in the classroom often leans on out-of-class struggles, after all. Then, after a handful of sessions, an e3 Academic Specialist meets with parents to report their findings and propose a plan to meet student needs.
1-on-1 Coaching
Social skills, self-advocacy, and the school performance that leans on those factors require a personalized approach that rides with your child’s learning style.
At e3, we deliver that approach through one-on-one coaching sessions with your child, rather than utilizing a blanket approach. During these sessions, e3 Academic Specialists lead students through open-ended conversations that dive into their physical, social, mental, and emotional standing. Combined with our academic consulation and proficiency assessment, the roadmap to your child’s success and boosted confidence becomes clear.
Third-Party Referrals
While our Academic Specialists are skilled in building student self-advocacy, self-confidence, and performance, some situations call for a third-party professional.

Personalized Academic Support for Students with Learning Disabilities
At e3 Consulting, we’re well aware that students who struggle with ADHD or learning disabilities such as dyslexia face particular challenges in the classroom.
If your child faces one of these challenges, we’ll address it early on. Our Academic Specialists will ask:
- Do their foundational learning habits need rebuilding?
- Can they move onto higher-level learning skills?
- Are there any better ways for them to learn?
ADHD is technically a developmental disability, but can still call for intervention. We’ve seen smaller class sizes and extra test-taking time benefit these students, since less distractions and a larger time cushion accommodate their ability to focus. It also eases the pressure of standardized testing.
As for learning disabilities, more foundational skills are often the focus. Literacy intervention, for example, is a way to help dyslexic students boost their reading comprehension to the appropriate grade level.
For the most part, however, it starts with determining whether these students need to go back and rebuild their foundational reading skills. This includes building their understanding of phonics, fluency, and more complex literary skills. By helping your child “learn to read,” they can then gain the confidence to “read to learn.”
